Annual summer celebration features four-days of fun

Crowds of local residents and visitors will converge on Starbuck this weekend for the annual Heritage Days and there is a full weekend of events planned starting  Thursday through Sunday.

Local businesses will have crazy days sales and there are tons of activities for kids and adults.

Thursday Night on the Town and the Farmers Market will still be happening on June 30, but there will also be Family Fun Night games in the Mercantile Building at the Starbuck Depot starting at 4 p.m.  Thursday will also feature the first-ever “Find the Lefse Medallion” clue at the Depot.

Crazy Days sales will be on Friday and there will be a Kid’s Fun Run in the park and a Bike Rodeo at the Depot.  Other activities that day feature the Little Miss Minnewaska Coronation, youth golf tournament and other activities around down.

Friday night the main attraction will be the Starbuck Fire Department Street Dance, featuring Dirty Word from 8 p.m. until midnight behind the Fire Hall.

Saturday features the Kiddie Carnival, the Grande Day Parade starting at 5 p.m. and the 18th Annual Miss Minnewaska Pageant and coronation at the Band Shell following the parade.  There will be fireworks in the evening.

The weekend-long event ends on Sunday morning with a community church service at Lakeshore Park.  Coffee will be served before the service.
