Dan Douvier was honored at last week’s Glenwood City Commission meeting when Glenwood Mayor Sherri Kazda presented him with a plaque in appreciation for his 36 years of service on the Glenwood Fire Department. Douvier was First Assistant Chief of the Glenwood Fire Department at the time of his retirement. In his letter to Fire Chief Bruce Cerney and his fellow firefighters, Douvier said he is “very proud of this department and all those I have served with all these years.” He added that “we should be proud of what we do and stand for in this community.” Commissioners also individually thanked Douvier for his service. The commissioners officially accepted his resignation from the GFD in June.
