Earl Hauge captured this recent sunset over Trophy Lake in Glenwood.  The shadows are longer and the sun is setting more than an hour earlier than it did just a few weeks ago signaling the end of the treasured summer season and the beginning of one of Minnesota’s most beautiful seasons–autumn.  It is the transition from summer to winter that we call “fall” in Minnesota because the days get considerably shorter, the nights longer and the temperatures cooler.  In addition, the leaves “fall” from the trees during this season.
