The Minnewaska Area volleyball team came within one point of taking a two games to none lead over BOLD during a WCC match at home, Thursday, but the Warriors came roaring back to win game two and then proceeded to win the match in four games to avert the upset, 14-25, 28-26, 25-22, 25-22.
Two nights earlier, the Lakers gave up just 27 points in winning by a sweep at Montevideo, 25-6, 25-9, 25-12.
Minnewaska Area has had five-straight weeks of playing a match on Tuesday and Thursday this fall and this is the fifth-straight week the Lakers have split those two matches.
The Lakers are 8-6 overall and 5-5 in the WCC with four conference matches and two invitationals left on the regular-season schedule.
This week, the Lakers do not play on Tuesday, but Minnewaska Area does play at West Central Area, Thursday, and at the Alexandria Invitational, Saturday.
