Starbuck hosts Christmas Lighted Parade, Santa and more . . .

The Starbuck community hosted a special night of Christmas fun, Saturday, with trolley rides, visits with Santa, food, drinks and snacks at the Nutcracker Cafe and a Lighted Parade at 7 p.m.

There were a record 18 entries in this year’s lighted parade.  The winner of the parade entries was “There’s No Place Like Home”, while placing second was “Erdman Auto Glass” and earning third was “Karen Holte and the Grinch.”

Helping out Santa at the Nutcracker Cafe was Dave Arbuckle, who did an amazing job.  During their visit with Santa, area youth could sample some treats and hot chocolate at the Nutcracker Cafe, courtesy of John and Amy Camp, who recently took over the operation of the Nutcracker Cafe and also own the Brooten Bakery; mail a letter to Santa in his special Santa Mailbox; and receive a small treat from Santa after visiting for a while and letting him know their Christmas wishes.

Earlier, people had a chance to ride on the trolley at the Depot with Steve Gorder driving his Polaris Ranger to help out the reindeer, who were needed somewhere else that night.  The trolley was provided by the Depot.

The Starbuck Area Chamber of Commerce was responsible for organizing all the events Saturday night.  Karen Tharaldson is this year’s Chamber president.
