The Minnewaska Area wrestling team is set to host the Minnewaska Area Invitational, Friday.  The Lakers are 1-2 so far this season, having also wrestled at the Big Lake and Pine River Invitationals.

The pace of the schedule picks up bigtime this week as the Lakers have 10 scheduled competitions set for the final 28 days of the regular-season.

The Section 8AA Tourney is set to begin Thursday, Feb. 15.

Miles Wildman, who is 10-1 so far this season, is ranked third at 121 pounds in the state Class AA rankings.  

He leads the Lakers with 10 victories, while Landon Schiffler is 8-4, Chase Smith is 7-5 and Myles Reichmann is 6-5.  

Smith is also ranked ninth at 127 pounds during the latest updated seedings this year in Class AA state wrestling.
