WINTERAMA SET FOR FEB. 10

The annual Glenwood Winterama event is less than a month away.

The winter celebration is set for Saturday, Feb. 10 starting at 3 p.m. in front of Lakeside.

Winterama, a fundraising event hosted by Glenwood & Beyond, is an annual festival dedicated to celebrating the area’s wintery climate with festivities for all ages. By offering a wide variety of things to do, Winterama brings families and friends together for a day of winter fun!

Some of the events include:

•Shop Hop specials at local retailers

•Kids’ Activities on Lake Minnewaska outside of Lakeside Ballroom

•Kids’ Art inside Lakeside Ballroom

•Winterama Polar Plunge on Lake Minnewaska

•Chili Cook-off inside the Ballroom at Lakeside

•Kids’ Indoor Scavenger Hunt inside Lakeside Ballroom

•Bobber and Premier Prizes Raffle tickets

All events held on Lake Minnewaska are dependent on ice conditions, it was stated last week.

Register now for Polar Plunge

Registration to take the “plunge” into Lake Minnewaska is now open, according to Heidi Polzin, 2024 Waterama Vice Commodore.

Jumpers are asked to raise $150, because the Polar Plunge is a major fundraiser for Glenwood Waterama.  Jumpers must be 16 years and older and dressing up and skits are encouraged, but should be family friendly, it was stated.

Anyone interested in “taking the plunge,” should contact Polzin by emailing Polzin at hapolzin@gmail.com or by calling 615-216-4247.  Jumpers will receive an informational letter, pledge form and liability release form.  The forms, money and a short bio for the Polar Plunge announcers should be turned in by Wednesday, Feb. 7, Polzin said.
