Minnewaska Area Schools last week announced that Blake Karas has been identified as the standout candidate amidst a competitive applicant pool for the Middle School Principal position. Pending board approval on March 25, MAS will extend an offer to Karas for the role.

With a total of 10 qualified applicants, the selection process was rigorous, according to a news release from MAS Superintendent Chip Rankin. “Following thorough review and consideration, our interview team, comprised of representatives from teachers, the school board, and administration, unanimously identified Mr. Karas as the ideal candidate for the position,” Rankin stated.

Karas brings with him exceptional leadership skills, a steadfast commitment to academic excellence, and a profound dedication to student growth and development. His vision for the future aligns seamlessly with the goals and values of Minnewaska Area Schools, it was stated.

In response to his appointment, Karas said, “I am extremely excited and thankful for the opportunity to join Minnewaska Area School District. I was immediately impressed by the closeness of the community and the support families have shown for their schools. I look forward to getting to know the staff and community and working together to do great things for our students!”

Interviews for the Middle School Principal position were conducted on Monday, February 26, providing Karas with the opportunity to showcase his qualifications, experience, and vision for the future of our school.

“With confidence in Mr. Karas’s ability to lead our middle school to continued success and excellence, the entire Minnewaska Area Schools community eagerly anticipates his arrival and looks forward to collaborating to provide an outstanding educational experience for all our students,” Rankin stated on the news release.

“Pending board approval, we eagerly await the official welcome of Blake Karas as our new Middle School Principal,” Rankin stated.
