It was the shortest open-water season on record with Lake Minnewaska becoming ice free on March 13, 2024 and then being ice-covered on March 28, 2024.  April Fools!  The ice did cover much of the lake again on Thursday, but it was thin and most was gone by mid afternoon.  It is likely it won’t return again until late this fall.
