The Minnewaska Area girls golf team picked up right where it left last season, winning the first two WCC meets at Morris and WCA last Tuesday.

The Lakers return everyone from last year’s WCC championship team, which won all eight WCC meets during the 2023 season.

The Lakers, coached by Tony Janu, Sarah Iverson and Brett Thorfinnson, also won a dual meet at Marshall last Saturday, 352-401, and placed fourth of 16 teams at the Alexandria Invitational, Wednesday.

This week, the Lakers are set to compete in two WCC doubleheaders.  Minnewaska is set to compete at Montevideo and BOLD, Monday (today) in a meet that was postponed from last week.

The Lakers are also set to compete at Sauk Centre and Melrose, Tuesday (tomorrow) before hosting the Minnewaska Area Girls Invitational, Friday, and competing at another meet at Alexandria, Saturday.
