The Minnewaska Area boys golf team opened up the season at the Becker Invitational, Thursday, finishing seventh of 15 teams in a meet won by Waconia.
The boys team is coached by Dion Harste, who took over for David Drexler and had been an assistant for many years.
The Lakers were also set to compete at the first two WCC meets of the season at BOLD and Montevideo, Friday, but those two meets were postponed due to weather. A recap of the Marshall Invitational, Saturday, appears on page 4B of this week’s paper.
This week, the pace of the schedule really picks up as the Laker boys are set to compete at the Kimball Invitational, Monday, at two more WCC meets at Morris and WCA, Tuesday (tomorrow), at the NLS Little Crow, Thursday, and at the Willmar Invitational, Friday.
