We started the season off strong with two wins against Redwood Valley and Montevideo, but then really struggled to find any consistency and at times, had a hard time scoring the basketball over the next month. At the midpoint of our season, we were just below .500, but we finished the season strong, going 9-3 in our last 12 games to finish 16-10 overall.
We had two overtime games this year, winning one and losing one. We also had some very exciting games; Owen Meulebroeck made two free-throws with 0.1 seconds left on the clock in a tie game to win against WCA and, a few weeks later against WCA again, we came back from 20 points down to win by three. Then, the next game we beat Melrose by two in triple overtime (53-51), which was personally, one of the craziest games I have ever been a part of.
Coach Traphagen really has the guys believing in the system we are running and does a great job motivating them.
The future looks bright for Laker boys basketball!
