Students of differing grade levels will be working  two days this week

“We are excited to extend to you an invitation to participate in the upcoming 6th Annual Day of Caring hosted by Minnewaska Area Schools (MAS), according to Supt. Chip Rankin.  “This event, a cherished tradition within our community, embodies the spirit of service and collaboration that defines our school’s values,”

This year, MAS has structured the event to accommodate different grade levels on separate days this week:

Wednesday, May 1: Grades 7-12

Thursday, May 2: Grades K-6

The Day of Caring presents an opportunity for MAS students and staff to join hands and make meaningful contributions to communities within the school district. Projects may include tasks such as washing outside windows on the ground floor (no ladders), yard work like raking and gardening, and other similar outdoor activities. “If you have a project in mind that you would like our volunteers to undertake, we kindly ask you to complete the registration form,” it was stated.   Providing detailed information about your project will assist our volunteers in understanding the requirements and estimated duration.  The registration form can be found on the MAS website at www.minnewaska.k12.mn.us.

While the registration period for projects has passed, inquiries or assistance, should be directed to Sarah Suchy at (320) 239-4800 ext. 1513 or email Minnewaska Area Schools at dayofcaring@isd2149.org. Rain or shine, student volunteers are committed to working on projects, ensuring that the spirit of caring prevails. In the unlikely event of severe weather, cancellation information will be communicated through local radio stations or our school website: https://www.minnewaska.k12.mn.us/.

“We are eagerly looking forward to this opportunity to give back to our community and express our gratitude for the unwavering support you have shown Minnewaska Area Schools, Rankin said. “Encouraging an ‘attitude of gratitude’ and fostering genuine appreciation are values deeply rooted in our educational mission, and the Day of Caring serves as a tangible manifestation of these principles,” he added.
