Pope County children had the opportunity recently  to take part in the Touch the Truck event. Sponsored by the Minnewaska Area Parent Advisory Board, Minnewaska Area Community Education and EC/Thrive Initiative, the event featured staff and equipment from the Pope County Sheriff, Glenwood Police, Starbuck Police, Starbuck Fire Department, Glenwood Fire Department, City of Glenwood, Sparked BK Towing, Erickson Excavating, Palmer Bus Service, Marthaler Chevrolet, West Central Sanitation, Braaten Masonry, McMahon Oil, Fauskee Oil, Meixel Truck, Red Horizon, Midwest Machinery and Brownies Tire Service.  The kids were able to get up close and personal with the equipment and machinery, experiencing first-hand what each piece can do.
