The Minnewaska Rotary Club recently donated $3,300 to the City of Long Beach. The funds came from the “Cash Bash” fundraiser hosted by the local Rotary Club in an effort to raise money for cities within Pope County. Accepting the check on behalf of Long Beach were (from left holding the check): Terry Duhn, Council member Will Harvey and Mayor Mike Pfeiffer. The funds will be used to help install a paved walkway at Morning Glory Gardens on Lake Minnewaska in Long Beach,, it was stated by Pfeiffer. The Minnewaska Rotary club will also be presenting $3,300 checks to the cities of Lowry, , Villard and Glenwood. It already donated $3,300 to the City of Starbuck. About $17,000 was raised by the Minnewaska Rotary Club’s Cash Bash in March and all the proceeds will be provided to the area’s cities for specific projects. “The club wanted to do something substantial for the area communities and thanks to the support of the community, we were able to do just that,” said current Rotary President Tim Douglass.
