Dreams of the Bachelor of this Village: Here are, a bunch of bachelors, waiting, hoping, wishing something in the heavens will turn and only the Almighty knows what it is. Perhaps it is some love and perhaps it is some love and perhaps it is something else, but no matter what we say or do, here is one bunch that thinks as one. Oh Boy! If we just had someone to like! We are dreaming dreams, building castles in the air, we are forever chasing rainbows, in the morning as the sun peeps over the hills we have a vision, perhaps this day will bring us nearer to our cheery hope which we pray each night will come our way. This winter rolls by and no one in sight. The spring comes with renewed hope that as the new leaves start coming out, we wonder where is love and where will I land? Here we are, forty and one, no hope at all, where is the guy who said there is one for each of us. We have dreams of love at first sight, we have dreams of love at last-ditch, but where oh where is love everlasting? Here are the bachelors of Starbuck. What do you think about a tax of ten a year? It would net the village over $400 a year, and since the bachelors number about one-tenth of the entire population, it gives food for serious thought. Here they are: Prof. Jorstad, Dr. Larson, Tilman Smedstad, Cy Olson, Leo Sylvester, John Larson, John Erickson, Eugene Swenson, Alfred Erickson, Perle Heegard, Gilman Heegard, Bennie Hagen, Arnold Dullum, Ole Grondahl, Hilmer Johnson, Elmer Wesen, William Wesen, Clarence Christenson, Jack Dullum, Fred O’Hare, Otto Byhre, Henry Overstad, John Wollan, Bill Peterson, Harold Peterson, Gust Engebretson, Milo Hagen, Christ Westby, Ted Hanson, Julius Billehus, Carl Kjolsbeck, Oscar Engbretson, Benny Aaberg, Syver Aaberg, Herman Tessem, Ole Torgerson, Gladstone Stinson, Ernie Stinson, Dutch Jolelicar and Anton Tranae. The contracting parties will take the obligations for all Law Suits if some of this should happen to come in print.
