The Minnewaska Area girls golf team won three more WCC meets last week to clinch another conference title.  The Lakers won a meet at BOLD last Monday, and also won a pair of meets at Benson and Minnewaska, Thursday.

In the results that follow is also information about the Alexandria Invitational where the Lakers golfed, May 4.

This week, the WCC teams are set to compete in the final conference meet of the season at Montevideo, Monday, May 13 before getting ready for the Brainerd Invitational, set for Wednesday, May 15.

Alexandria Invitational

The Lakers competed at the Alexandria Invitational, Saturday, May 4 at the Geneva Golf Course.

Minnewaska Area had a 335 total to place second behind Maple Grove, which won the team title with a 314 score.

Annika DeBoer led the Lakers with an 18-hole score of 77 to earn second, while Arivia DeBoer and Ava Kollman tied for seventh with rounds of 81.

Kyra Nelson placed 34th with a 96, while Anna Kollman and Lillie Ogdahl tied for 37th with rounds of 101.

WCC meet at BOLD

The Lakers won their fifth-straight conference meet with a 172 total at Olivia last Monday.

Arivia and Annika DeBoer led the Lakers with rounds of 40 on the par-36 course to tie for second, while Ava Kollman was fourth with a 42.

Earning medalist honors was BOLD’s Kenna Henriksen with a 38.

The Lakers, who beat BOLD by 11 strokes for the team title, also got a 50 from Lillie Ogdahl (ninth), a 51 from Anna Kollman and Kyra Nelson (tied for 12th) and a 54 from Michaela Johnson (tie for 19th).

WCC doubleheader

The Lakers won both team titles at a pair of WCC meets at Benson and Minnewaska, Thursday, clinching another overall conference title for Minnewaska Area High School.

The Lakers had a 168 total at Benson to win by 14 strokes and then, after a short break, golfed a 179 total at home to earn the title by 16 strokes.

Kyra Nelson had the medalist score at Benson with a 40, while Ava Kollman tied for second with a 42 and Arivia DeBoer and Annika DeBoer were among a three-way tie for fourth with 43s.

Lillie Ogdahl added a 46 to earn ninth, while Anna Kollman had a 52 to place 18th and Michaela Johnson carded a 60 to earn 29th.

•  Later in the day, Annika DeBoer earned medalist honors with a 41 during the meet at home as Minnewaska continued to dominate the team competition with its seventh-straight title.

Arivia DeBoer and Ava Kollman tied for second with 43s, while Kyra Nelson and Lillie Ogdahl provided the fourth score by tying for 12th with 52s.  Also golfing for the Lakers were Michaela Johnson and Anna Kollman, who tied for 30th with 58s.
