Students at Glacial Hills had the opportunity to play authentic, handmade African drums with drum master and maker, Thomas. Thomas brought in 22 Ashiko, Djembe, Dun and Ca-jon drums from his collection. Students learned about the origin of these beautiful instruments and the important role they have played in African and South American culture. Their creative juices got flowing by “grooving,” “jamming” and expressing themselves through rhythm.
