Glenwood Waterama kicked off sales for the 2024 Waterama Button with this year’s Admiral Angie VanZee (left) selling the first button to last year’s Admiral Terry Jones. The Waterama buttons are a tradition that dates back to 1956 when Burke Von Wold, heading Glenwood’s summer festival, sold the first button to launch the celebration. Waterama buttons help finance the celebration that brings dances, sports, water activities, parades, and much more family fun to the Glenwood community every year. This year’s Waterama marks 68 years and is set for July 25-28 (the last full weekend in July). Everyone who purchases a button is entered into a drawing held during the Waterama Queen coronation on Sunday evening, July 28. The button drawing offers chances at cash prizes.
