Gordy Wagner, Paul Gerde to run unopposed

Pope County Incumbent Commissioners Paul Gerde and Gordy Wagner will run unopposed for their respective seats the Pope County Board of Commissioners.
Gerde represents District 3 and Wagner represents District 2. Both of them filed as candidates for reelection. The candidate filing period ended last Tuesday, June 4.
Randall Edward Pederson was the sole filer for Pope County District 2 Soil and Water Supervisor; and D. Gary Reents was the only one to file for Soil and Water Supervisor in District 2 of Pope County.
Other notable election dates in June
The first ballots in the Minnesota primary election will be cast June 28. Election season will be in full swing through the general election on Nov. 5.
All Minnesota ballots will include races for president, U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, state representatives and judicial seats. June 4: The candidate filing period ended at 5 p.m. for federal, state, county, soil and water conservation districts, cities with a primary and school districts with a primary (known as the early filing period).
June 28: Early voting begins for the Aug. 12 primary election, by mail and in person, and continues through Aug. 12.
