The 10th annual Glacial Ridge Health System’s Scrub Run took place Saturday morning, starting and finishing at Lakeside near the Glenwood City Park.  The official time of the Scrub Run was 9 a.m.  The participants started off toward Captain’s Bar and Grill and then headed back to the finish line at Lakeside.  At left, the participants warmed up before the start of the run.  The 5K Scrub Run was inspired by Dr. Mark Johnson, who was the Emergency Director and one of the ER doctors.  Giving the introduction was Josh Chan (below), who was a paramedic in the EMS Department at the time Dr. Johnson was here and worked very closely with him for nearly 10 years.  He is now the manager of the Emergency Department.  Winning the boys title was Zach Palmer and winning first for the girls was Jillian Deutsch (picture of the two winners below).  There were 128 registered participants for this year’s run.  Runners and walkers were encouraged to wear scrubs for the race.  More pictures can be found at the Pope County Tribune website.
