The board of the Ann Bickle Heritage House is pleased to present Soffia Stadtherr with the Student Volunteer Award. Join the group for the presentation at the Rhubarb Fest on Saturday June 15, at 3 p.m.

Soffia has exemplified the true spirit of volunteerism through activities at school, raising awareness and food for the local food shelf through National Honor Society. She also organized Christmas gifts for Armful of Love through Student Council. She has also helped with blood drives, anti-vape awareness campaigns and raising awareness for Someplace Safe.

Soffia’s grandmother, Sharon Larson, was instrumental in installing this spirit of volunteerism. Sharon brought Soffia to the ABHH to help set up for different events. Soffia sang at the Christmas teas, and baked cookies for the bake sales.

This love for her grandmother and volunteering didn’t stop when Sharon was moved to GRV, Soffia would bring friends to the Glenwood Retirement Village and visit with people.  At Christmas, Soffia and her friends would sing holiday songs that the residents recognized and could sing along to.

“Please join us at the Rhubarb Fest at 226 E. Minnesota Ave from 2-5 pm to celebrate with Soffia and the spirit of volunteering. We will be serving homemade rhubarb treats, punch and coffee, along with a bake sale and free will donation,” it was stated.
