The Starbuck Stars amateur baseball team fell to 5-5 overall with a 3-2 home loss to Regal, Friday night at home.  The Stars were also set to play at Paynesville, Sunday, but results of that game will be highlighted next week.

The Stars were playing the game with a shorthanded squad due to a wedding of one of the players.  The Stars’ lineup for the game included about half the starters from this year’s Laker high school baseball team.

On tap this week are a pair of games, including a County Line League game, Friday at home against Norway Lake-Sunburg followed by a non-league game at Willmar, Sunday afternoon.

The Stars are 4-2 in the County Line with four league games to go and 5-5 overall.  Not far off is the County Line League playoffs, set for July 13-14, or the Region Tourney, set for Aug. 2-4.

The County Line includes six teams, Starbuck, Paynesville, Regal, NL-Sunburg, NLS and Atwater.
