Phil Stumpf, and his wife Catherine, have sponsored Independence Day fireworks shows for the community for many years on the grounds of Evergreen Park Tree Farm in Glenwood.
This year Evergreen Park will be a bigger event, presenting “Music at the Barn” on Wednesday, July 3. The event will feature live music by Blonde & the Bohunk, fireworks and food and beverage options.
The Stumpfs invite the community to come out to Evergreen Park for a family-driven event that will feature live music by Blonde & the Bohunk from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. with the fireworks to follow at 10:30 p.m.
The Minnewaska House Brewing Co. + Grill will be providing adult beverages and beverages for youngsters. There will be pulled-pork sandwiches and “Mini Waska Donuts” will be available.
There is no charge for the music or the fireworks, but Phil and Catherine encourage those attending to bring a donation to Pope County Families in Need, a local organization that gives people a helping hand when they need it.
“That organization is near and dear to our hearts,” Phil said. “Both Catherine and I believe “when you empower the powerless, everybody wins,” Phil stated.
Attendees are asked to bring seating for themselves. “We just want the community to come and enjoy themselves and support the cause,” Stumpf said.
The Stumpf crew will be seen around the lawn driving their gator with the free will donation sign and a place to put donations for the Pope County Families in Need organization.
