The Laker trap team closed out the regular season with a solid 3rd place finish in Class 3A conference 3.  “The coaches are very proud of this team and how they never slowed down,” said head coach Jennie Stone.  “And, as they are hitting their stride now, it is perfect timing going into the Class Championship on June 12th.”

Season accolades go to Levi Schultz who finished 2nd in the conference and Mason Reichmann, who finished 3rd out of 221 shooters.

Several Lakers were named to the top 25 in the conference including Mason, Levi, Dylan VanZee, August Reichmann and John Jenson.  Earning top 25 honors for the girls were Tabbi Durand, Makayla Hagen, Kendra Schultz and Holly Hennen.

In addition, Mason Reichmann, Levi Schultz and Dylan VanZee all moved into the coveted top 100 overall; according to coach Stone, that is out of all classes and all conferences so it is the top 100 out of  11,266 shooters.

“The kids are stoked for sure,” coach Stone said.  “And now we will try to get the team back down for the State Championship as well.”

Reichmann, Schultz and VanZee earned a trip to Prior Lake on June 21st to compete for the title of State Champion. This is the fourth time Minnewaska has been represented in the top 100 since the program started 10 years ago.  The team has made it to the Championships three times so far.   “A reminder to come and watch us compete in Alexandria on Wednesday, June 12th,” coach Stone said.  “There will be a 50-bird morning session and 50 birds in the afternoon.  More details to come.”
