Jr. Legion opens up season with 4-3 record

The Starbuck Jr. Legion was 4-3 heading into last week’s action.
The Jr. Legion, coached by Chris Lence and Andy Goracke, was set to play at the Paynesville Tourney, June 22-23 before hosting Upsala for a doubleheader last Tuesday and also playing a doubleheader at Benson, Friday.
No information from those games was available by the press deadline, but it is hopeful a recap will be available for next week’s paper.
The team does not have any games scheduled for this week due to the Fourth of July weekend.
The next action scheduled for the Starbuck Jr. Legion is Tuesday, July 9 at ACGC followed by a doubleheader with Morris, Tuesday, July 16.
Starbuck was 10-7 overall last year, including a 9-3 mark in league play.
Through seven games, Connor Erickson was batting .500 to lead Starbuck. Other top hitters were Luke Danielson (.462), Marc Gruber (.391), Riley Dell (.316),Oliver VanderHagen (.286) and Miles Wildman (.273).
