BeKind members took note of MAS third-grade teacher, Mrs. Greene’s “World Impact Expo” project they completed before their summer break.

Students researched individuals and inventions and recognized things like innovation, perseverance, helping the poor, encouraging diversity, empowerment, safety, accessibility, and more. They used these traits to come up with their own original ideas. She said, “I was so impressed by their creativity and compassion.”

Here are just a few of the project ideas:

* Seat changer – having the ability to rotate/change the texture/material (hard, fluffy, bumpy, etc.) on your chair.

* Talking Teddy bear – give the Teddy bear a hug and it speaks affirming comments to you.

* Trash shark – a robotic shark that swims throughout the ocean collecting trash.

* Kindness button – press the button and hear a kind or encouraging statement.

* Find a friend machine – a robot that senses when students need a friend and either befriends them or helps them find a friend.

* Motivating baseball bat – a baseball bat with motivational phrases to encourage the batter.

* Safety robot – a robot that senses when you are in danger and comes to the rescue, such as by laying out a pillow to soften your fall.

* Calming parrot – a robotic bird that cheers you up, such as by telling jokes, acting silly or saying kind things.

Mrs. Greene said, “I am so proud of the students and the creativity and compassion they demonstrated throughout the process. It was definitely a highlight for the students as well!”

We’re also proud of the third grade students and thank Mrs. Greene and them for their creative ideas and thoughtfulness!
