NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

This is to notify the public that the meeting of the Pope County Planning Advisory Commission (PAC) will take place on Thursday, July 25th, 2024 beginning at or about 6:00 pm or shortly thereafter in the Pope County Courthouse, 3rd Floor Board Room, to consider the following agenda items:  

• Review meeting minutes from June 27th, 2024 PAC meeting

• New Business

o Conditional Use hearing on the application by Lloyd & Rwanda Campbell, if granted would allow applicants to conduct landscaping activities resulting in grading and fill in the shore and bluff impact zones in a Shoreland-General Development (S-GD) zoning district per section 4.6.10.A of the Pope County Land Use Controls Ordinance. Parcel is described as: Lots 3, 4 and part of 5 of the Breezy Knoll plat, Section 20, Township 125 (Minnewaska), Range 38, Pope County, Minnesota.

 Public Hearing: A public hearing will be held to receive comments regarding the application to install a new retaining wall.

o Conditional Use hearing on the application by Stephanie Howe & Randall Hagen, if granted would allow applicants to conduct grading and filling activities within the Bluff Impact Zone in a Shoreland-General Development (S-GD) zoning district per section 4.6.10.A of the Pope County Land Use Controls Ordinance. Parcel is described as: Lot 5 of the Plat of the First Addition to Minnewaska View, Section 31, Township 125 (Glenwood), Range 38, Pope County, Minnesota. 

o Public Hearing: A public hearing will be held to receive comments regarding the application to conduct grading and filling activities in the Bluff Impact Zone.

o Conditional Use hearing on the application by Glacial Lakes Landscaping on behalf of Gary & Wendy St Aubin, if granted would allow applicants to replace a retaining wall at or below the Ordinary High Water Level (OHWL) in a Shoreland-General Development (S-GD) zoning district per section 4.6.10.A of the Pope County Land Use Controls Ordinance. Parcel is described as: Lot 25 of the Ladds Beach plat, Section 35, Township 126 (Leven), Range 37, Pope County, Minnesota.

o Public Hearing: A public hearing will be held to receive comments regarding the application to replace a retaining wall.

o Conditional Use hearing on the application by Glacial Lakes Landscaping on behalf of Michael Schultz & Cheryl Bosshart, if granted would allow applicants to replace a retaining wall at or below the Ordinary High Water Level (OHWL) in a Shoreland-Recreational Development (S-RD) zoning district per section 4.6.10.A of the Pope County Land Use Controls Ordinance. Parcel is described as: Lot 26 of the Ladds Beach plat, Section 35, Township 126 (Leven), Range 37, Pope County, Minnesota.

o Public Hearing: A public hearing will be held to receive comments regarding the application to replace a retaining wall.

o Conditional Use hearing on the application by Glacial Lakes Landscaping on behalf of Randy & Jill Duevel, if granted would allow applicants to replace a retaining wall at or below the Ordinary High Water Level (OHWL) in a Shoreland-Recreational Development (S-RD) zoning district per section 4.6.10.A of the Pope County Land Use Controls Ordinance. Parcel is described as: Lot 27 of the Ladds Beach plat, Section 35, Township 126 (Leven), Range 37, Pope County, Minnesota.

o Public Hearing: A public hearing will be held to receive comments regarding the application to replace a retaining wall.

o Ordinance Amendment Discussion

Public participation by interested parties and citizens will include an opportunity to:

1) submit written concerns and comment prior to the scheduled meeting.  All such communications will be shared with the Planning Advisory Commission prior to or during the meeting;

3) review the staff prepared report via Pope County website;

4) observe and/or participate by providing verbal comments in the Public Hearing portion of the Planning Advisory Commission meeting.
