Conversations with Prairie Lakes Audubon Chapter members – code of ethics for bird watchers

The Prairie Lakes Audubon Chapter monthly meeting will be held at 7 p.m. this Tuesday, July 9, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria, 605 Douglas Street. This month’s topic is “Conversations with Prairie Lakes Audubon Chapter Members – Code of Ethics for Bird Watchers.”

This month’s discussion will be the American Birding Association’s Code of Birding Ethics and what that means for as avid bird watchers. Four key topics will be covered:

• Respect and promote birds and their environment.

• Respect and promote the birding community and its individual members.

• Respect and promote the law and the rights of others.

• Ethical bird photography and videography guidelines.

Join discussion to learn the do’s and don’ts, the most ethical and responsible bird watching practices as we understand them now. Bring your questions about best birdwatching practices … and bring a friend!

There is no cost to attend this program. All are welcome.

Prairie Lakes Audubon Chapter is the local Chapter of National Audubon Society for anyone interested in birds and nature. There are regular informal meetings and birding field trips. Please join us to support the Chapter and meet fellow birders.
