Rosholt Research Farm Field Day to be held Aug. 15; pre-registration required

The Pope and Stearns Soil and Water Conservation Districts and the Minnesota Department of Agriculture announce a field day at the Rosholt Research Farm on the current research trials. The Rosholt Research Farm Field Day will be held on Thursday, Aug. 15, from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
A great line-up of speakers will be participating in the event representing University of Minnesota, Minnesota Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service, AgCentric and Pope and Stearns Soil and Water Conservation Districts.
Current research trials to be addressed during the field day include: Nitrogen fertilizer applications, cover crop and living mulches, and irrigation water management practices.
Presentation topics:
-Finding the Right Combination of Productivity and Environmental Protection with N Rates and Cover Crops for Irrigated Corn and Soybean.
-Optimizing Irrigation and Nitrogen Management: Key Insights from Central Minnesota.
-Conservation Economics.
-Rainfall Simulator: Explore and examine infiltration rates on various cropland use techniques.

The event is organized by Pope and Stearns Soil and Water Conservation Districts and the Minnesota Department of Agriculture.
Funding for the work at Rosholt has been funded by the Minnesota Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund as recommended by the Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources (LCCMR), Minnesota Department of Agriculture Agricultural Fertilizer Research and Education Council (AFREC), and the Clean Water Fund as a part of the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment.
