Five players from the Starbuck Jr. Legion and Glenwood-Lowry Legion baseball teams were chosen to play in the 2024 Legion Prospect Select All-Star Series, Aug. 9-11.

Selected from the Jr. Legion representing Starbuck VFW Post 4582 were Connor Erickson, Luke Danielson and Marc Gruber, while selected from the Senior Legion team, representing Glenwood and Lowry Posts 187 and 253, were Noah Jensen and Levi Johnson. 

The Sr. Legion games were played at Northwestern University while the Jr. Legion games were held at Bethel University.

According to Jr. Legion co-coach Andy Goracke, each player was selected to play based on coaches’ nominations and then were selected through a committee.  “Obviously, due to the high level seasons put together by the above-mentioned athletes, it was an incredible honor to represent our hometowns and the game of baseball as well as representing the American Legion.  I was also fortunate enough to be asked to coach a team for the weekend.”

The All-Star series started in 2021 and now encompasses 10 teams and 140 players divided into two tournaments.
