Glacial Ridge Health System (GRHS) recently announced the addition of Katelyn Krueger, PA-C, to its team. Katelyn brings a wealth of experience and passion for patient care back to the area she considers home. Joining GRHS full-time, Katelyn will see patients of all ages for dermatology care at Glenwood, Starbuck, and Brooten Medical Centers.

Her journey into the medical field began in high school, where she first developed a passion for human sciences during an anatomy and physiology class. She completed her undergraduate coursework at North Dakota State University and worked for four years in radiology. Working directly with patients, she discovered a desire to further her education in hopes of impacting patients’ overall health and well-being.

Katelyn earned her master’s in physician assistant studies at the University of North Dakota. During this time, she developed a keen interest in dermatology from her own experiences with skin issues and chose to complete an elective dermatology rotation that solidified her passion. She loves the blend of medical, surgical, and cosmetic aspects of dermatology, which allows her to express her creativity while helping others.

Katelyn finished her Diplomate Fellowship with the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA) in 2022 and will take the dermatology Certification of Added Qualification (CAQ) exam this fall through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Katelyn is committed to the medical model of shared decision-making, ensuring her patients feel heard, understood, and in control of their care. She is particularly passionate about skin cancer prevention, screening, and treatment, as well as treating acne, rosacea, and perioral dermatitis. Seeing her patients’ self-confidence grow as their skin improves is incredibly rewarding.

Outside of her professional life, Katelyn enjoys lake activities, running, snowboarding, reading, and cooking. She grew up in Lowry and married her high school sweetheart. They have always dreamed of owning a lake home here, and after having their daughter, they knew they wanted to move back home to raise her close to family and share their love for Lake Minnewaska.

Katelyn was drawn to the rural healthcare system at GRHS because she finds it meaningful to serve members of her own community. She has always felt welcomed at GRHS as a patient, student, and outreach provider, and she is committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to her patients.

“Please join us in welcoming Katelyn Krueger, PA-C, to the Glacial Ridge Health System family. Her experience in dermatology and dedication to our community will be a tremendous asset,” it was stated.
