Glenwood Police Chief Dale Danter on Wednesday introduced to the Glenwood City Commission the two newest full-time Glenwood Police Officers. The newly hired officers are Benjamin Dorren (left) and Bailey Sorenson (center). “I’m really happy because with the hiring of these two additional officers, I’m proud to report that (the police department) is fully staffed,” Danter told the city commissioners. Glenwood Police Department now has six full-time officers plus the Police Chief. Danter said he has been fortunate the get officers hired and all of those hired have turned out “to be great officers.” Sorenson is a native of the Glenwood area, graduating from Minnewaska Area High School in 2018. He spent three years working for the Belgrade Police Department and wanted to be closer to the Glenwood area. Dorren was originally from Colorado, but relocated to Minnesota in 2018. Both are graduates of the Alexandria Technical and Community College. Dorren worked as a Minnesota State Patrol Trooper for the 2/12 years but was assigned to the southwest corner of the state and wanted to get back to the Central Minnesota area. He is currently living with his wife and son in Glenwood, he said. From left are: Police officers Dorren, Sorenson and Glenwood Police Chief Dale Danter.
