NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

This is to notify the public that the regular meeting of the Pope County Board of Adjustment will take place on Thursday, August 22nd, 2024 beginning at or about 6:00 pm or shortly thereafter in the Pope County Courthouse, 3rd Floor Board Room, to consider the following agenda items:

• Review meeting minutes from July 25th, 2024 BOA meeting

• New Business

o Variance hearing on the application by Bruce Harvey, if granted would allow applicants relief from the septic system to ordinary high water level standard setback in a Shoreland-Natural Environment (S-NE) zoning district, per section 4.4.4.B, 4.6.5.A.1 and 10.20 of the Pope County Land Use Controls Ordinance. Parcel is described as being located in: Part of the South Half (S½) of the Southeast Quarter (SE¼) of the Southwest Quarter (SW¼), Section 6, Township 125 (Minnewaska), Range 38, Pope County, Minnesota.

o Public Hearing: A public hearing will be held to receive comments regarding the application for relief from the minimum OHWL to septic setback standards.

o Variance hearing on the application by Nancy Pesta and Patrick Walsh, if granted would allow applicants relief from the impervious surface standard in a Shoreland-Recreational Development (S-RD) zoning district, per section 10.10 of the Pope County Land Use Controls Ordinance. Parcel is described as: Lot 5 of Lake Amelia Park Addition, and Lot 9, Block 1 of the Plat of the First Addition to Lake Amelia Park Addition, Section 36, Township 126 (Leven), Range 37, Pope County, Minnesota.

o Public Hearing: A public hearing will be held to receive comments regarding the application for relief from the impervious surface standard.

Public participation by interested parties and citizens will include an opportunity to:

1) submit written concerns and comment prior to the scheduled meeting.  All such communications will be shared with the Board of Adjustment prior to or during the meeting;

2) submit concerns and comments via Pope County’s Public Comment web map, go to https://www.popecountymn.gov, at the top of the page hover over Government, then under Board of Adjustment/Planning Advisory Commission, select Submit a Public Comment or type in the following link to access the Public Comment web map: (https://popecounty.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=22a203912a864a77b4cdabe672e35e3f) 

3) review the staff prepared report via Pope County website;

4) observe and/or participate by providing verbal comments in the Public Hearing portion of the Board of Adjustment meeting.
