Auxiliary of GRHS set to celebrate 20 years of elegance and fundraising

Time is running out to purchase tickets for the Harvest Ball!

On Saturday, October 5, Minnewaska House Brewing Co. + Grill will be infused with all the nostalgia and comfort inspired by a vintage fall atmosphere. Community members are invited to wear their finest and celebrate 20 years of elegance and fundraising. The delightful evening begins at 5 p.m., where attendees can socialize, view the live and silent auction items, and play our popular raffle games. Raffles include classics like the Walls of Wine/Beer, Chance Board, and 50/50 cash raffle.

The Minnewaska House will serve a delicious meal composed of fall favorites; enjoy mixed salad greens with a cran-pear balsamic dressing, popover with honey butter, grilled pork chop, seasoned bread stuffing, mashed potatoes, and roasted vegetables. To complete this festive fall meal, our dessert table will be brimming with delectable apple pie and frosted pumpkin bars prepared by the Brooten Bakery.

Immediately following dinner, a live auction will be conducted by Zielsdorf Auctioneers. A few items we are excited to preview to the public include:

•Photorealistic drawing of your beloved pet by local artist Shelly Anderson,

•5-course dinner for four with craft beer pairings and a Brewmaster visit from Minnewaska House,

•Yeti Cooler donated by Stryhn Construction,

•Pie Of the Month Club, courtesy of Auxiliary members

The Silent Auction will also have a host of fantastic items, including the elaborate centerpieces used for the event. These décor items are all one-of-a-kind originals that will make your fall decorating elegant and effortless.

As the raffle and silent auction wrap up, the fun continues when the Blues Brother’s Revue takes the stage at 8:30. With a diverse library of covers spanning multiple genres, there will be a beat for everyone to dance to!

Tickets for the Harvest Ball are $75 per person, and every ticket includes a $50 tax-deductible donation. Purchase tickets at the Glacial Ridge Hospital main entrance or call Joanna at 320-334-5539. The deadline for purchasing tickets is September 20. Reserve a table for 8 or 10 people. Also, the Minnewaska House is happy to accommodate special dietary needs; contact Joanna by September 28.

The Auxiliary of Glacial Ridge Health System has supported the hospital’s efforts since 1939 when Ann Bickle organized the group. This year’s Harvest Ball proceeds will go toward their $30,000 pledge for a high-tech simulation mannequin, SimMan®, for the Emergency Department.
