Minnewaska Area Schools is proud to join the Minnesota School Boards Association in celebrating Minnesota School Board Recognition Month in September 2024. This year’s theme, “Public School Boards Have Heart,” recognizes the essential role that school board members play in the success of Minnesota’s public school students.

Throughout the month of September, we are taking the time to honor and express our gratitude to the dedicated members of our school board who work tirelessly to support our students, staff, and community. These volunteer leaders are at the forefront of shaping the future of education in our district, making critical decisions that impact the lives of every child in our schools.

“Our school board members bring their passion, dedication, and heart to their roles every day,” said Chip Rankin, Superintendent of MAS. “They are champions for our students, ensuring that every child receives a quality education in a safe, supportive environment. We are grateful for their service and their commitment to our community.”

The Minnesota School Board Recognition Month was moved from February to September to better align with the start of the school year, providing an opportunity to highlight the important work that board members do from the very beginning of the academic year.

We encourage our community members to reach out and thank our school board members for their dedication and service. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay updated on the great things happening in our district and to join the conversation.

Minnewaska Area Schools is committed to engaging every student, every day, in a learning environment that fosters academic excellence and personal growth. Our mission is to provide a high-quality education that prepares all students for success in their future endeavors.

Current MAS board members are: Chad Barsness, Ted Reichmann, Amanda Ogdahl, Angie Reichmann, Jeff Holtberg, Justin Zavadil and Zach Lagred.
