Students at Glacial Hills Elementary are embracing the great outdoors through a hands-on approach to their education, investing time in the school’s Outdoor Learning Center. Recently, fifth and sixth graders tackled an impressive project in their science class, trenching nearly 100 feet to combat erosion around the school’s popular “hammock hotel.” This effort not only helps preserve the natural landscape but also serves as a practical application of their classroom learning about ecosystems and environmental science.

The hammock hotel has become a favorite retreat for students across all grade levels. It provides a serene space for mindfulness practices and reading, allowing children to connect with nature while developing their literacy skills.
