There will be a community-wide Infant Loss Remembrance Day to honor your child that has passed, and to aid you in your grieving. This is for any infant loss, whether it was recent or many years ago, whether it was due to miscarriage, stillbirth, abortion, SIDS or any other reason, and whether this was your loss or someone you are grieving with, recent or long ago … this day is for you.
This Day of Remembrance will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at New Life Church, 1910 County Road 82 SE, Alexandria. The church will be open all day, 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Come anf go as you desire throughout the day for personal quiet time, reflection and prayer. Stations will be available all day long; with options to help you process your grief.
In the evening, from 6:30-7:30 p.m., there will be a memorial service for your infant with prayer, guest speakers from those who specialize in grief counseling, personal remembrance time, babies names read out loud and candles lit. There will be grief counseling options available upon request and take-home resources and gifts. Most importantly, your privacy will be respected and involvement levels will be at your own comfort level. Email snowdad3@charter.net with any questions.
