Oct 4-11 was Fire Prevention week and all three of the Minnewaska Elementary kindergarten classes visited the Glenwood Fire Station to learn about fire prevention and to see all of the tools they actually use to help protect the community.

The second week of October has traditionally been Fire Prevention Week. The goal of Fire Prevention Month (October) and Fire Prevention Week is to raise fire safety awareness so that fire departments can better  protect homes and families.  During Fire Prevention week, local firefighters spend  time with youth providing important public education in an effort to decrease the devastation that can be caused by fires.
