NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

This is to notify the public that the regular meeting of the Pope County Board of Adjustment will take place on Thursday, October 24th, 2024 beginning at or about 6:00 pm or shortly thereafter in the Pope County Courthouse, 3rd Floor Board Room, to consider the following agenda items:

• Review meeting minutes from September 26th, 2024 BOA meeting

• Old Business

o Variance hearing on the application by Mary O’Connell, if granted would allow applicant relief from the septic drainfield to the road right-of-way and property line setback standards in a Shoreland-General Development (S-GD) zoning district, per section 10.20 of the Pope County Land Use Controls Ordinance. Parcel is described as: Part of Lot 1 of Sunny View and Part of Lots 8 and 9 of Fosse’s Subdivision of Government Lot 4, Section 20, Township 125 (Minnewaska), Range 38, Pope County, Minnesota.

o Variance hearing on the application by Mary O’Connell, if granted would allow applicant relief from the top of bluff setback standard in a Shoreland-General Development (S-GD) zoning district, per sections 4.2.4.C and 4.6.5.A.3 of the Pope County Land Use Controls Ordinance. Parcel is described as: Part of Lot 1 of Sunny View and Part of Lots 8 and 9 of Fosse’s Subdivision of Government Lot 4, Section 20, Township 125 (Minnewaska), Range 38, Pope County, Minnesota.

• New Business

o Variance hearing on the application by Jordan Johnsrud, if granted would allow applicant relief from the road centerline setback standard in an Industrial (I) zoning district, per section 8.3.1.C. of the Pope County Land Use Controls Ordinance. Parcel is described as: Lot 4, Block 1 of Jepp Island, Section 31, Township 126 (Leven), Range 37, Pope County, Minnesota.

o Public Hearing: A public hearing will be held to receive comments regarding the application for relief from the road centerline setback standard.

o Variance hearing on the application by Richard & Barbara Mrugala, if granted would allow applicants relief from the sideyard setback standard in a Shoreland-Recreational Development (S-RD) zoning district, per section 4.3.4.D. of the Pope County Land Use Controls Ordinance. Parcel is described as: Lot 2, Plat of the First Addition to Clearwater Bay, Section 35, Township 126 (Leven), Range 37, Pope County, Minnesota.

o Public Hearing: A public hearing will be held to receive comments regarding the application for relief from the sideyard setback standard.

Public participation by interested parties and citizens will include an opportunity to:

1) submit written concerns and comment prior to the scheduled meeting.  All such communications will be shared with the Board of Adjustment prior to or during the meeting;

2) submit concerns and comments via Pope County’s Public Comment web map, go to https://www.popecountymn.gov, at the top of the page hover over Government, then under Board of Adjustment/Planning Advisory Commission, select Submit a Public Comment or type in the following link to access the Public Comment web map: (https://popecounty.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=22a203912a864a77b4cdabe672e35e3f) 

3) review the staff prepared report via Pope County website;

4) observe and/or participate by providing verbal comments in the Public Hearing portion of the Board of Adjustment meeting.
