The Minnewaska football team is guaranteed a home playoff game this year.  The Lakers earned the second or third seed in the upcoming Section 6AAA Tourney.  If seeded second, the Lakers will receive a bye for the first round and host the NLS-Montevideo winner, Saturday, Oct. 26.  If NLS beats Annandale this week and somehow overtakes the Lakers in the QRF rankings, Minnewaska would be seeded third and would host Monte, Tuesday, Oct. 22 with the winner moving on to play at NLS, Saturday, Oct. 26.

Either way, it’s been a great season for the Lakers, who came within a few plays of beating Albany, Friday night at home.  The last time the Lakers hosted a playoff game at home was during the shortened 2020 season due to COVID when they beat Melrose (35-19) in the first round and also hosted NLS in the semifinals, losing 26-7.
