Now through 4 p.m. on October 10, the United Way of Douglas & Pope Counties is collecting gently used winter coats, hats, gloves, snowpants, scarves and boots at the United Way office, 503 Hawthorne Street, Alexandria. Items of all sizes are needed! Please make sure your donations are warm, washed and have working zippers. No donations will be accepted after 4 p.m. on Oct. 10.

Need Winter Wear?

If you are in need of winter weather clothing items, stop by the United Way office on the following days:

• October 17-18, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

• October 21-24, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

• October 28-30, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

There are no income guidelines or qualifications to receive items. We ask that individuals and families only take one of each item that they, or their immediate family members, are in need of.
