Last week, 3rd graders at Glacial Hills Elementary School had an amazing time learning all about the life cycle of plants—and got to dig in and plant some garlic! The day started by learning about seeds, plant life cycles, and even how to break apart a garlic bulb into cloves. Then, it was time to put their new skills to the test! They planted four different types of garlic in their garden bed and made sure to insulate it with straw to keep it cozy all winter. Students can’t wait to see the garlic grow and harvest it next summer! Stay tuned for updates on their gardening adventure! GHES would like to send out a huge Thank you to Morning View Acres for leading this opportunity and to Martin Gardens for their generous donation of the garlic.
