Ghosts, goblins, witches and black cats were everywhere during Pope County’s celebration of Halloween, Thursday, but there were also princesses, firemen, Mario and Luigi, cowboys and a host of other fun characters.  Yes, Pope County sure knows how to celebrate Halloween.  Included in the many trick-or-treating options for area youth were fun, games and treats at the Glenwood Public Library and Glenwood Chamber Office/Welcome Center, along with trunk-or-treating at Glacial Hills Elementary School in Starbuck.  Among those joining the fun at the Library were Mario and Luigi (below and at left) where kids could play games, make crafts and do some coloring (bottom pictures).  Joining in the action at the Welcome Center were a friendly witch and Wednesday Adams (pictures at left).  The Welcome Center provided a nice backdrop for families to snap a quick picture and also had games, activities and treats for the kids.  At Glacial Hills, members of the local Police and Fire Department were on hand (top picture) to hand out treats and a young fireman (below) even showed up to make sure everyone was safe.  All-in-all, it was a great time to be a kid.
