Students at MAES love to gather together to share their Laker Pride near the start of every month.

For December, third graders who work with Mrs. Weltzin performed skits about receiving gifts. They taught us three little lessons:

1. A gift deserves a thankful and heartfelt reply and a 

    compliment to the giver.

2. Focus on the positive for an unwanted item by 

    thinking of the love that is part of any gift.

3. Find joy even if you receive a gift you already have.

Then students from each class had a friendly basketball shoot-out. It ended with staff versus some third graders, and the third graders won!
