Nine area schools were represented in the 18-player WCC All-Area football team for 2024.  The annual All-Area football team is put out by the West Central Tribune of Willmar.  

BOLD led the way with four selections on the All-Area first team after going 8-2 this season and losing to state champion Minneota in the Section 5A finals.

BBE was next with three picks, while KMS, NLS, Litchfield and Dawson-Boyd each had two selections, and RCW, Willmar and Minnewaska Area also had one selection each.

Six players were repeat selections — BOLD’s Hudson Vosika made his third All-Area team, while BOLD’s Owen Flann and Jack Gross, BBE’s Brett DeRoo, Dawson-Boyd’s Brayson Boike and KMS’ Jett Olson are also repeat selections.

The complete team includes Dawson-Boyd junior quarterback Gunner Liebl, BBE senior runningback Jack Lundberg, RCW junior runningback Jacob Savig, Dawson-Boyd senior receiver Brayson Boike, NLS senior wide receiver Brock Buffington, Willmar senior lineman Finley Donelan, BBE senior lineman Cooper Roering, BOLD senior lineman Carson Serbus, BOLD senior all-purpose player Hudson Vosika, BOLD senior defensive lineman Owen Flann, Minnewaska Area senior defensive lineman Kaiden Harvey, KMS senior defensive lineman Aaron Jones, Litchfield senior linebacker Ethan Holtz, NLS senior linebacker Braden Long, KMS senior linebacker Jett Olson, BBE senior defensive back Brett DeRoo, BOLD senior defensive back Jack Gross, and Litchfield sophomore special teams’ player Anthony Taylor.

The WC Tribune had this to say about Harvey, “Kaiden Harvey’s abilities up front were important to Minnewaska’s run to the Section 6AAA championship game.  Harvey capped off his senior season with 25 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, three sacks, one fumble recovery and one defensive touchdown.  He was named the District Defensive Lineman of the Year.”

•  Earning placement on the honorable mention team were 15 other  players, including three Lakers, Asante Adams, Riley Dell and Noah Jensen.  Also selected were four players from BBE, two each from BOLD, NLS and MACCRAY, and one each from Litchfield and KMS.

Adams, a junior runningback/linebacker, had 94 carries for 705 yards with 11 touchdowns for the Lakers this fall and was selected All-District.  

Dell, a junior fullback/linebacker, also had 94 carries for 627 yards with seven touchdowns, while also registering 35 tackles, four forced fumbles, one interception and was selected All-District.  

Jensen, a senior defensive lineman/tight end, had 28 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, three sacks, one fumble recovery and was also selected All-District.
