The Glenwood Welcome Center hosted its annual Open Holiday House Family Night from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 12 at the Welcome Center in Glenwood. A large crowd was on hand for the event, including a long line to see Santa. The open house event was geared for families with kids 12 and under, along with their parents, but others, who just wanted to stop by for a cup of hot cider or to see what was going on, were also welcome. Santa was available to take pictures with the kids and the Welcome Center printed the photos right away so the families could take the memento home with them. There were cookies and beverages for those attending, along with other activities for kids, including coloring, holiday crafts, games and other fun. Kids also had the chance to decorate their own cookies and either eat them right away or bring them home. Santa had a few helpers along to help out with everything. Overall, it was a great chance for area residents and families to continue celebrating the Holiday season.
