The 2024 Magical Christmas in Glenwood, hosted by the Glenwood Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and Welcome Center, has been set for three Thursdays in December with activities on Dec. 5, 12 and 19.  

Activities on this Thursday, Dec. 5 include a free Community Supper and the annual Lighted Holiday Parade.

There are also a number of activiies during the week of Dec. 12, including the Holiday Train, which will be at the Glenwood Depot from 10:15-10:45 a.m. on Dec. 15.

The schedule of events for the annual holiday celebration are listed.

Thursday, Dec. 5

4-7 p.m. – Free Community Supper (serving 4-6:30 p.m.)  at the Glenwood Lutheran Church Social Hall, 206 Minnesota Avenue E, Glenwood. The supper is open to all community residents and catered by Lakes Catering. The menu includes barbecue sandwich, cheesy potatoes, green beans, cookie and beverage. Glenwood Lutheran Church Social Hall-Jolly McJingles Balloon Twisting, coloring contest begins.

5:15 p.m. – Popcorn & Hot Chocolate at the Pocket Park (main street) courtesy of American Solutions for Business 5-7 p.m. – Lighted Horse and Wagon Rides, Erickson’s Petting Zoo (Glenwood Lutheran Church Parking lot) 5:15 p.m. – Tree Lighting Ceremony-Light up the Town in front of the Pope County Courthouse

5:30 p.m. – Lighted Holiday Parade. Parade begins on 1st Avenue NW and continues on MN Ave. to 2nd Street NE (street by fire hall/Glenwood PD and Pope County Human Services).

Thursday, Dec. 12 

4-7 p.m. – Open House & Family Night, Glenwood Welcome Center Building, 7 First Street NW, Glenwood. Kids 12 & Under Pictures with Santa, Jolly McJingles Activity, Take and Make Activity, Cookie Decorating, Coloring Contest and Refreshments.

Saturday, Dec. 14 

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Glenwood Day at Andes Tower Hills.  Lift Ticket- $20. Lift Ticket and Ski Rental  is $25.  Lift Ticket and Snowboard Rental -$30. 

Sunday, Dec. 15

10:15-10:45 a.m.  Holiday Train at the Glenwood Depot – 20 15th Street NE, Glenwood. (Allow time for parking.)

Santa Treat Day Minnewaska Area Pre-School & Elementary School

Thursday, Dec. 19

407 p.m. – Living Nativity

6-6:45 p.m. – Music by Hope Community Church (all can join); cookies and hot apple cider courtesy of GrandStay.
