Students at Minnewaska Area Elementary School kicked off January with their Laker Pride Assembly. The theme was Laker Pride goal setting for 2025. Every student K-3 thought of an area of Laker Pride they could improve on and wrote it on a post-it note. Four students shared their goals during the assembly:

• Kindergarten – Abigal Worms said, “I will work hard to keep the school clean.”

• 1st Grade – Clara Fremling said, “I will be responsible by cleaning up the

  classroom.”

• 2nd Grade – Madi Huckle said, “I will work harder to be at a level 1 or 2 in

  the cafeteria.”

• 3rd Grade – Jayce Beene said, “In gym, I will not blurt and get better at games.”

Kindergartener Olivia Morris-Durkee helped Mr. Weaver lead the school in the Laker Pride song. Then the 2nd and 3rd grade tug-of-war competitions began! Winners included Mrs. Heidi Greene’s 2nd grade and Mr. Bond’s 3rd grade. The third grade staff also beat the 2nd grade staff!
