The City of Long Beach held its January Regular Meeting Jan. 27 and the first order of business was to swear in its city officials.

Mike Pfeiffer won his 4th two-year term as Mayor.  He also served as council member for a four-year term prior to Mayor.

Patia Jensen was re-elected Clerk/Treasurer for a second four-year term.

Cody Kurowski was elected to his first term as council member and Cody also was appointed in 2024 to fill a vacant seat due to resignation.

The oaths were completed at the New Community Hub that is being built to replace the 70-year-old Long Beach City Hall on North Lakeshore Drive. Meetings are now being held at the Hub by a conditional occupancy agreement with Starbuck Construction, who has been a responsive and accommodating builder.  Mayor Mike Pfeiffer said, “We are fortunate to have so many local construction companies working on the Hub!”

In the pictures of the leaders being sworn in Monday, notice a wood panel door trimmed in white.  This door was installed in the old City Hall by former Mayor Duane Major during a remodel.  It was preserved before demolition, reconditioned beautifully by the craftsmen at Starbuck Construction, and installed in the Community Hub as a token of bridging the gap from old to new, Pfeiffer added.

The interior of the Community Hub is nearing completion months early.  The lakeside and exterior landscaping, parking lot, and site preparation will happen as soon as spring thaw conditions allow.  Once complete, there will be an open house inviting the community to visit and learn about our new home, said Pfeiffer.
